(I do not work in the UK.)
I am not going to look for another job, this one is hard enough to come by.
I work at a small tutorial company. My problem is something that I've noticed quite a lot over the year and a bit that I've been there. The boss very much needs t o be prompted
She has this habit of either proactively briefing teachers of new students if she's in a good mood or saying nothing until you beg an audience. The problem with this is sometimes the work required for new students ( we teach mainly 1-1) takes more time than she is willing to admit. We only work 5 hours M- F in the afternoon so we get limited time at work as it is once students arrive.
The problem is compounded by my boss having to be constantly reminded to review teaching materials, provide resources etc. What is really bad is feeling like I have to literally badger her otherwise nothing will be accomplished.
Before you ask why not just ask the students, we teach the children of high - net - worth individuals. These people complain about staff being disorganised if we seem like we don't know anything.(Syllabi, course, assessment dates, coursework deadlines, curricula etc.)
This has been going on for some time. She comes across as entitled and disrespectful of time since instead of focusing on my other 23 students' planning and marking I now have to sit in a meeting. Planning time vanishes which is terrible as in my team I am the only one creating materials for my whole department. The meeting ends, I have a student immediately and then another and then the 5 hours are up. You can only hope to catch up the next day.
