I applied for a job at a well known construction company and had the manager contact me for an initial chat on Teams. This happened last week and it seemed to go well and he talked about setting up another Teams meeting with the other managers about the role for this week, which was okay for me. It's been a week and no further meeting has been sent, I emailed the guy and reiterated what we said re another Teams and that Im available but no response. He did say he was on holiday and so am I next week. Should I just wait until I hear from him or should I contact HR? The project is in preparatory stages so it makes sense there could be a delay, but I'd really like the job.. should I just hang fire ?

I would not contact HR, this will reflect badly on you to him. Almost like you are telling on him.

I would contact him again after a few more days and then just leave it. If he doesn't come back to you after a couple of follow ups, something has changed and he won't get in touch, as rude as it is.

Was his out of office on to say on annual leave?

100% do not contact HR at this stage

No his out of office wasn't on, maybe I'll just wait.
