dentist and sick notes

Can dentist sign sick note?
Had deep filling replaced and crown lengthening done 6 days ago. Since that time I am on co-codamol and pain is unbearable. 2 days ago I called emergency appointment and got antibiotic prescribed. Doesn't look like it helps at all and no idea what to do next. I managed to book another dentist app for tomorrow but I am not able to go to work in that state. Opioids just reduce the pain for 1 hour and then I am left in tears.

No I don't think that they can, sorry. I used to be a dental receptionist and I have never heard of this being done by any of the dentists. Can you access a same day service GP and tell them you're unwell? You have to self cert for the first week off work anyway.

my first week will be finish tomorrow, also tomorrow I have the next emergency dentist appointment, no idea what he done week ago but my teeth, jaw, sinuses and ear hurts now, and because of the opioids and lack of sleep I am contently dizzy. its like no escape if I don't go to work without certification I will be doomed the gp has no idea about dentistry so they won't do certification and if I go to work I endanger my patients as I an nurse so I will loose pin and face criminal charges; doomed indeed
