Change in Job Title

If my boss wants to change my job title, should I be worried? Don’t want to give too many details as potentially outing but what impact could this have on job security?

Where I work, it’s generally a way to give you a fake promotion that doesn’t involve any kind of salary increase.

Depends if the job title means anything elsewhere. For example Financial Controller kind of means the same in lots of places, whereas Customer Success Manager might be more varied. Don't accept a change that could be viewed as a demotion

Well it totally depends on whether it looks - on the surface - to be a demotion or a promotion. Honestly there are not enough details to give you proper advice.

The term is not an improvement
