What can they disclose

Am a bit worried. Have been off sick with anxiety since beginning of October and have been in stage 1 sickness review previously.

This ended and then I had an informal absence review where it was agreed my triggers would be extended due to my circumstances (bereavement related)

I have found a new job which will be much better for my stress and mental health. I handed in my resignation and provided a last fit note to cover my absence during my notice period.

HR have asked for my permission to release reference information. This is unusual to me - does it mean they intend to disclose more than just standard dates etc? I know they can't go into detail but how am so worried now they are going to pull the offer at the new place. The work place was very antisocial hours, undervalued and stressful so I think a big contribution to My anxiety hence me looking for something else.

Is this normal for HR to do now?

I've never been asked for permission. However, sickness is one thing that can go on it. Maybe speak to HR.
