Long story short, had a run in with a colleague a few weeks ago. End of a very long shift I asked if had completed one of the daily tasks. He stood for 15 mins telling me he had never done this document before, didn't know what I was talking about and couldn't understand what the document was. I explained it to him several times before another colleague said leave it they will do it. It is a very simple document that is basically a check box, but we're not allowed to leave without it. By the end of the 15 mins of him protesting, I did snap. Not have ago but I questioned how he has worked here for so long and this is one of the fist documents youre shown how to do! Other colleagues in the office also questioned this. He put in a complaint.
I was pulled in For an "informal" chat. With him and HIS supervisor (not mine) I apologised for the way i had questioned him. But then pointed out that he should know what this document is. He made excuses. I raised that he had a knowledge gap. He then started to attack my character he called me names and told me I was a 'know it all." Supervisor said nothing. He then went yeah you need to go and take a chill pill or get some happy pills. I took a bit of offence to this and told him he was out of order and that "take a chill pill or get some happy pills" was very derogatory. The supervisor again said nothing. I said I find that term very offencive and we work in an industry where mental health is at the forefront of our work. Supervisor said well thats you opinion. Then said well just shake hands and agree to disagree ....
I am still annoyed at the comment. My MH has been shit last couple fo months, I have quite a few different things that are causing me stress, he doesn't know but I have just been prescribed said "happy pills" I have since found out that he has been telling others that he "put me in my place and knocked me down a peg or two" . Am I unreasonable or was that out of order? Im considering raising the comment as a grievance or should I just drop it? My head is a mess with plenty of other things but this keeps playing on my mind. I dont work with him often but I have a shift comming up and I am so irritated by this.
