Turned down to move from zero hours to permenant role

So essentially, I’m currently doing the job I interviewed for. I fluffed the interview big time, like I totally get the whys and hows. I knew as soon as I walked out that I’d fluffed it.

My issue is this, I’m working the exact same role I interviewed for on a zero hours contract. It now feels hypocritical that they don’t think I’m capable of a permanent role based on a twenty minute interview, yet still happy for me to continue on a zero hours contract because it suits them.

Any advice?

Look elsewhere using the current role as your experience.

Your current employer has chosen not to offer you a full time contract for whatever reason. Go back to HR and ask for their feedback.

Take their observations on board and then apply for roles elsewhere. Good luck.
