How to turn down a temp role (NHS)

My 11 year temp role is coming to an end in two weeks time (my choice to work that way). I have let temporary staffing know (who deals with temps). He has run past me a role which isn't suited to me at all. I only like back office roles, but this role is working on a ward (still temporary) where I may have to deal with aggressive patients/visitors as I'll be first point of contact. How can I decline this offer so that I still will be offered other roles by him?

Just tell him what you said here, you don’t want a patient facing roll and would prefer back office. Explain that you don’t feel you have the right skills or personality to be dealing with members of the public. Thank him for considering you for the role and tell him that you are still interested in any other vacancies that may come up in the near future.

I think you have to have a certain type of personality to be dealing with patients and their relatives in a hospital - my SIL is very good at the job but she’s very loud and outgoing and doesn’t take any shit from anyone, the total opposite of me!
