Team fall out

I started a professional training programme as part of a team of 7 just over two years ago. We are a range of ages but mostly late 20s to mid 30s. Some of us married with kids and some single, 4 women and 2 men. When we finish our training next year we will be split into two teams working on separate areas of the same business.

Everyone has got on really well- a few niggles/annoyances but generally It has been a lot of fun. There's an active chat group, we've had a few nights out and I really thought we were quite close knit overall. Two of the team were especially close and now they have fallen out about a minor thing. I assumed it woukd all blow over but it has been weeks now and it is really affecting the whole group dynamics. I'm not really sure how to handle it. I struggle with a tense atmosphere and just want it to go back to how it was a few months ago. We still have one year of training where we all need to work co-operatively before we move to our new areas.

Anyone else been through the same thing? I can't change anything so is it just suck it up until the atmosphere eases. In my old job the work was a lot more individual so it didn't matter whether people got on socially or not.

Who is the manager? Speak with them. This is one of the reasons why it pays to be cautious around outside of work socialising and chat groups. Do you know what the falling out was about?

Our manager isn't very approachable so had wanted to avoid involving them. Falling out was something minor and has been blown out of proportion I think.
