Hope someone can help, I’ve been working as a temp worker in management for 10 months and company decided that they were going to make the position that I’m covering into a permanent post. I was asked to apply. So I did, post was advertised and of the applications mine was the only one that met the criteria. Initially I was told that the post would need to be readvertised but my application would be carried over. A few days later I was told that they had decided that they could interview just me and didn’t need to readvertise. Interview date and time was arranged. 2 days before the interview I was advised that it had to be cancelled. Today I received an email thanking me for my application but that I had been unsuccessful and I notice that the job has been readvertised. (I’m still working the temp position). I just find the whole process very bizarre, but was wondering is this actually legal? I have no intention of reapplying, only have 4 more weeks of my contract and then I’ll move on - although I could give a weeks notice and leave I’m too conscientious to do this. Thoughts anyone?
