Reference titles for new job

Looking for some advice!
I’ve been with my current employer for 13 years across various roles in the business (large organisation). I received a new ‘Head of’ title in April 24 and have the internal email and new org chart to confirm this.

Fast forward and I’ve now got a job offer from a new organisation and on checking my details for notice period etc have noticed that my title wasn’t accurately updated in our Hr system - instead I have a different ‘Manager’ role. My current manager has put in a request to have this amended and backdated.

Ironically it’s my old boss that gave me this new title that’s offering me a new role in her new company, she’s aware of the situation.

Should I be worried about my titles not lining up during the reference check? I have the documentation to prove it and it’s now being sorted but I’m concerned this may lead to my offer being rescinded and I’ll end up with no job at all! 😱

it a huge step for me to move after 13 years so I’m already very anxious about it so any advice is appreciated!

I’m sure it will be fine. You say the person hiring you is aware of the job role you’ve been doing.
