NHS Band 7 Maternity Pay

Hi
I would love some help or info from anyone off on maternity leave who is a band 7 in nhs.
I am currently full time middle band due to go to top tier in Feb. With no unsocial hours or enhancements. Due to go on maternity leave in May. I hope to split this evenly. Am I right in thinking the first 6 weeks is always full pay with the last remaining 12 weeks no SMP only OMP?
I would love to know any one in a similar position current average take home maternity pay during the bulk of the months? Our payroll don’t give a breakdown so it’s just guess work which is so difficult and stressful, plus no way of actually knowing if it’s correct or not!
Thank you so much in advance, any info would be greatly appreciated.

It’s usually
8 weeks full pay
18 weeks half pay plus SMP
13 weeks SMP
13 weeks unpaid

See your trust policy for details of options about spreading payments over 12 months

Wow. That’s absolutely shite Mat leave.

Yes thanks for your response. I’ll be entitled to maternity pay of 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half plus SMP, 13 weeks SMP, 13 weeks unpaid.
I would like to split this evenly over 12 months but I think it’s only the OMP element that is split evenly over 52 weeks. SMP is only over 39 weeks with full pay paid in first 6 weeks ( so this element can’t be split evenly). so confusing that’s why I’ve come on for some help. To see if there was anyone on the same band who would wish to share what their payments were for most of the months then once SMP stops.

I'm not on the same band as you so can't help from that point of view.
I did split ot over 12 months though which I found was a good option to have at least something coming in every month. This meant that my first couple of months were quite low as there is no SMP for the weeks when you would have been on full pay. I preferred this to not having anything coming in at the end of my maternity leave though.
