New team member + payrise

My team is growing from 6 to 7, and with him will come 3 new projects.

My salary is about average for the role, maybe a little over, and the company is fairly small (revenue). I’m taking on more and obviously want to be paid for this but I’m unsure or would like a little advice on how to broach it. I think my concern is that I’m already paid well for the role and I’m worried they will cite this as a reason to not pay more.

What would you do?

I would speak to your immediate boss, ask for a raise. Directness pays. (I really hate to say it, but men do it).
