Hello, looking for a little guidance from anyone who has been through this. I know the job market is tough but I’d love to hear positive feedback, guidance and stories.
Im in a senior tech role (Senior Tech Product Manager) but could also spin it out as Principal Tech Analyst or Product Manager as my company changed the job title so many times. I’ve not been made redundant yet, but they have culled thousands this year and just announced my team is being cut so it’s all pointing to redundancy in the next couple of months. If I’m lucky I will find another internal post but they are scarce.
I’m 40 years old and navigating my first redundancy, I’ve also just returned from Mat leave so it’s all scary as hell.
I’ve been picking up certifications in the data field in preparation but haven’t done a data role for 15 years.
if you have tackled redundancy in tech what positive steps did you take to stand out from the crowd , how long did it take you to find another role? How much of a paycut did you have to take? X
