New job...night before prep

Hi all
Just a light hearted post.

I'm starting a new job and wondered what things do you do the night or even time before starting.

  • I've got the route sorted and know which building I'm going to and confirmed who is meeting me
  • car is full of petrol
  • clothes chosen and ironed
  • work bag packed
  • soak in bath inc shaving, moisturising and face mask
  • I'm going to have a good nourishing meal tonight as I'll probably be unable to eat tomorrow

I was going to wash and dry hair but I'll probably have an unsettled night so thought fresh hair would be better

Anything else anyone does on night before a new job?

I started a new job recently, so in addition to the things you have above, I also have a downloaded ‘confidence’ meditation that I use on special occasion when I need a boost the next day, and take magnesium supplement to help me sleep!!

Ah amazing thank you...I do have magnesium so I'll take that as I've been having really unsettled nights.

Try and prep something for breakfast so that you've eaten in the morning, especially if you think you'll have an unsettled night

Thanks. I'm not normally a breakfast person by nature...first meal is usually 11am onwards so thought I'd take some fruit or other snack in my bag.

Make sure you have snacks..but also, know where you can go for a wander on your lunch break. I wasn't brave enough for the staff room for the first few days, so looked online for a walkable route to do on my lunch break. Bonus of it refreshing my mind a bit as well.

But then, my first few days was an endless tedium of e-learning

I’m sure it will all go fine. Do you know if you need to take your own tea/coffee and milk etc in? Plus a mug/ cutlery etc.

Thank you. I did wonder this but, people normally go in really infrequently. I thought id take a couple of herbal teabags just in case.
