Hey, I really need some support ive worked hard this past year to do studies and im almost qualified, a job i have worked for has become available and my manager called me to let me no and to apply for this permanent position. But I don't actually want it I dont think. My family are so happy for me, but I seriously have such cabin feet this is more money more responsibility and more hours. I literally don't think I want it, but jobs like this dont come up often, my manager isn't the best she piles work on to her managers, she cries the company HR are rubbish, I just dont think I wanna work so closely to her. But im aware I may never get this opportunity. Anyone been in this situation please help!!!!

Apply!!
Why wouldn’t you.
You say yourself that you’ve worked for it. Feel the fear and do it anyway!!
Do not get stuck in the belief that you’re not good enough!

Think back to why you started the qualification. Was it to move into the sort of role that’s now become available? If so, you’ll probably kick yourself if you don’t apply.

what is putting you off applying? Is it the manager? Do you think you’d enjoy the role if she weren’t in post? If so, I’d apply, do the job for a year and then look for a similar role in another organisation. Grit your teeth and tell yourself the medium term benefit will make the short term pain worthwhile.

if you don’t apply, then you’ll likely not get another opportunity with your current employer and will need to move to another firm in order to make the short term most of the hard work you’ve put in to get qualified.

I would apply. Your have issues with your manager- aim to work on these with better communication. Take the attitude that every problem has a solution. You'll never find the perfect job, but you can make a job perfect for you with effort. Ask yourself "What would xxx (insert name of a person you admire) do in this situation?' This will help you be the best you can be.
