negotiate nhs banding point when changing job

I have a job interview coming up. I'm currently NHS and this is a different NHS trust and 1 band lower to what I'm on now. I have over 15 years experience on my current band and so should I get it (fingers crossed), is there a potential for me to negotiate not starting on the bottom of the band but at least mid point, ideally higher, or is that not acceptable?

thanks

Not a chance

I haven't worked in the nhs in a while but it certainly used to be the case that you could negotiate a higher pay point if warranted by your experience.

When I was in the NHS, if you went down to a lower band, there was no negotiation required. You just went to the highest point of the lower band. I worked in 1 trust and health Education England if that helps.

I think you would go to top of the band from my experience too.

Yes you would be able to go to the top of the band.

I did! They tried to start me in the bottom of the band when I had nearly 20 years experience, I just had a chat with HR and they started me at the top
