Does anyone work for asda that could explain what this means I have tried googing and getting a few different responses
Is it where you only work seasonal times all year round or is it where you work every week but with overtime on seasonal times

It’s a zero hour contract, what the hours you get are will depend on the shop and manager and time of year etc. My DH did this temporarily when DS was born so we could flex with the baby but he was getting at least 4 8 hour shifts a week. Others struggle to get hours

Thank you for getting back to me its just very confusing and didnt actually see the seasonal part when applied so didnt question it at the interview
I have now been offered the job and signed the contract which stated 16 hours per week so was a little confused about it all

Is there an end date on your contract?

notmyname1 · 19/09/2025 09:15

No just a start date it is very confusing
I do have a induction soon so can find out everything then im guessing but just trying to find out what to expect first

Im just confused contract says 16 hours a week but the job name is permanent seasonal which kind of sounds like 2 different jobs potions in one 🙈

Yeah normally seasonal is just for Christmas time, that sort of thing. But if it’s permanent, then it’s just a 16hr week “normal” contract. Very odd!
