Struggling to get my SMP

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I’m having issues with being paid my SMP and was wondering if anyone had any advice
every month I am being paid late , for instance I was due to be paid on the last Friday of August and have still not been paid
it’s really difficult surviving on SMP as it is
I am chasing every month for my money
Some months I am the only office based person who is being paid late
although this month I know someone else has yet to be paid
it is a relatively small business and I am being told by the person in charge of payroll they are waiting to receive payments before they can pay me
SMP is so low anyway that it’s becoming really difficult not knowing when I’m going to be paid
any advice would be appreciated as chasing them constantly does not seem to be helping as this is happening every month

This is discrimination. You are supposed to bepaid on the same payroll schedule as other employees. The amount that the employer receives from the government is 108.5% higher than the amount passed on to you (if they are a small-scake employer) because the extra compensates them for the additional admin and the cost of paying you before the funds are received. So they are taking the extra money but not actually meeting the obligations that the money is paying for. Large employers don't get this extra because the work and inconvenience to them is pretty much negligible when the workforce is larger, but it would still be illegal discrimination to fail to pay you on time.
