Part time & redundancy question

I’m in a redundancy pool and there’s ten of us. I’m the only part time worker of the bunch, I work 4 days a week.

When they broke the news they said they were getting rid of 4.8 people. Am I right in thinking this means I’ll definitely be one of them (the 0.8)? Is that ok for them to say right at the start?

I’m afraid that’s a strong possibility that you are the .8 but what a crap way of explaining this, I definitely would tell them my dissatisfaction on the way they’ve gone about this.

That’s ridiculous. Yes it is likely you and they have outed you to others. Can’t they just say getting rid of 5 job roles/5 jobs are
at at risk? It’s a bit odd for them to say from the start. If I was you I would take screen shots/photos of evidence mentioning the 4.8 in case you need it in the future.

Agree. Can you evidence they said this? If they did that goes to a predetermined outcome which may prove unfair selection.

I would read that they are only going to have 5 full time roles. You should be able to be considered for one of these roles but you might have to accept going up to full time. You cannot be automatically selected for redundancy as the part time role is going.
