Civil Service EOI Process

Ive seen a EOI role i am keen to apply for, I've never applied for an internal role before so unsure on protocol but heard its generally best practice to contact the person listed on role ad.

I know it will probably vary by department, but generally is it best to do it via teams or email and would you try and arrange a quick call or just ask a few questions?

Then specifically about questions what should i be asking, is it more about selling myself at this stage, finding out what they want on application or just what the day to day of role looks like?

This is a very generic question and will differ per role and person.

For an EOI you need to check your current business area would be able to let you go before applying.

I would then drop the person a message or email and say you’re interested in applying and would love to get some more info. I had a call for mine, found out exactly what the role was, what the area was doing and what they were looking for. It went well as I have now been there 18 months (it was a permanent EOI).

Good luck!
