Accepted a provisional offer and I could be pregnant

Hi all

I don’t have kids right now.

So I am not quite pregnant yet and I actually have an appointment for emergency contraception this week which I am stressing about as I am really torn (I suffer with Generalised Anxiety Disorder so I’m worrying about what could go wrong and that’s what’s putting me off) but I’ve just had an offer on a job in the Civil Service.

There is a part of me that wants to see if I am pregnant and not go to my coil appointment and see if I do get pregnant but I’m worried about this job.

I don’t have a start date yet, it’s civil service so they need to do a pre check but I guestimate I’d be starting end October (latest) and if I am pregnant my due date would be 15th May (I know the exact date that the deed happened).

Why are you worrying about the job if you are pregnant? You'd just go on maternity leave as would any other employee. Massive employer, they won't bat an eyelid.

Hi @ByQuaintAzureWasp I hope you get this, I am new to mumsnet so hope I am doing this right lol.

I am worried as my start date is estimated end of October (due to notice). If I am pregnant when I test in 14 days, I’ll be due in May. I’d be at the company for just shy of 6 months. That isn’t enough time to keep my job (if I need to go off earlier) and to get maternity pay.
