Resigning by email...

Is it acceptable to resign by email if my boss is on annual leave for another two weeks?

I've only been there 6 months and it's not right for me but I know she will be a bit peeved. I have another job lined up and I don't want to keep them waiting...

Is this ok to do? Obviously I'd rather do it face to face but I can wait that long.

Yes, fine to resign by email.

However I would strongly advise you to cc in the boss above yours and HR, and ask that they acknowledge receipt.

Giving notice really is about the time in which the recipient has been notified, and if it’s sitting in an unmanaged inbox for two weeks before it gets read, that isn’t great.

Perfectly fine. Just send the Email and copy in HR.
