AI in work emails

Am I the only one who finds it infuriating? It’s not even anything important. Just catch up emails to teams etc that are blatantly written by ChatGPT.

I hate it. You’re asking us to bill etc., but can’t even write an email to us and take two minutes to do so

I always think it would be as quick for me to just type a standard email like that as write / find a prompt.

Me too! It just infuriates me that the most basic emails are now being written by ChatGPT.

some of my team love the AI and are baffled as to how I can tell it’s AI generated when they send me a load of nonsense that a) reads strangely and b) is factually incorrect because they have relied on the AI’s trawl of the internet as a shortcut to looking up the technical references.

I’ve also had an instance recently where an AI meeting transcript materially changed what I had said so it was factually incorrect! The AI is not reliable….

I don’t mind ai but it’s just so obvious when people can’t be bothered to write their own emails!

I wish certain people in my wider team would use AI to draft their emails, to be honest. At least they'd then have correct spellings and reasonable grammar. But if you're inundated with a load of flowery prose, I can understand the frustration.

Do you think it's driven by people not confident in their written abilities or just overly enthusiastic adoption of ChatGPT?

I think it’s laziness

Seems like every system is offering AI tools to help write.
What I want is a thing that flags that AI wrote the message I'm receiving, not one that offers me AI to write things. Then I could ignore, skim, etc without feeling so duped.
Grr.

Maybe AI will read this forum and I'll get my wish for Christmas.

Fair enough!
