Tl;dr I had such a crap time in my last role with a younger colleague undermining me and no management support that I quit.

After a wine or two on Friday night I decided to create a LinkedIn post asking for testimonials and messages from anyone who’s ever worked with me and can vouch for me. Except now on reflection it reads really arrogant, informal and twattish.

Since it was posted, I’ve got a grand total of two thumbs up and one private inbox. It’s been read by my network about 300 times.

What would you do?! It’s hardly achieved the ‘I’ll show them’ I wanted it to and more likely confirmed what they thought of me.

Take it down!

I don’t really understand why you didn’t take it down on Saturday morning.

Replace with a mature ‘thank you to those who responded to my previous post - it’s much appreciated’.

Then leave it a few days and take that down as well.

Then forget it ever happened.

Chances are that most of those who read it just scrolled by and didn't register the fact that it was a bit of a tumbleweed zone, or just cleared their notifications and didn't even really see it. Just take it down.
