Civil service AL overpayment

I have recently transferred CS departments and have been paid a full AL entitlement in my final wage. What’s people’s thoughts on this? Should I speak immediately or hang fire until they notice?

Ask about it immediately, you really don't want HR on your back later. Think the pay policy says somewhere that you must report any inaccuracies straight away anyway.

@ChookaPooka mmmhhh honestly I am bit taken aback by the question. One of the civil services ethos is integrity….

Absolutely - OP just remind yourself what you signed up to when you became a Civil Servant, everything you do in your role, how you act and behave, the decisions you make, must be held to the highest standard.

so with that in mind, do you think it's right to hold back on something you know to be an error to your financial advantage just in case they don't notice?

or would it be better for you to highlight your concern that your AL award looks too much and can they please check the HR system in case an error has been made.
