Sick Pay Queries

I'm hoping someone can help me understand what pay I will be entitled to please. I am on sick leave and have received a letter saying that I will drop to half pay shortly. The date for this change is later than I expected but I had been unable to get hold of a proper policy to check exact details. My husband has suggested that maybe they have applied two weeks unused holidays to my pay first. I have handed my notice in and am due to leave at the end of August and have two weeks unused holidays. My understanding is that they are not allowed to do this and I will get half pay until I leave plus an additional full pay amount for any outstanding holidays in my final pay? Am I correct? Thank you.

It wouldn't make sense to have sick pay then holiday then sick pay again as it would create two different periods of sick pay.

As you've resigned, they can legally expect you to take your remaining holiday before you go.

I disagree with red flags. If you've got a GP note and your contractual sick pay is not exhausted, they'd be silly to change your absence really to AL without your agreement. If sick pay has been exhausted, then I can see the logic. It should be clear from your payslips how your pay has been calculated. How do you manage AL, can you log into a system to see what is remaining?

Just in case, are you leaving part way through the leave year? If so, your AL will be pro rata'd, are you sure you def have 2 weeks owed to you if you leave? If you want to share the details, I can help calculate it otherwise

I have a sick note running until the day I leave and I won't exhaust my half pay sick leave in that time. The system shows that I will have 16 days owed (that's pro rata'd entitlement - 30 days full calendar year less 4 days taken). I've been in the system now and can see how they've worked out the full pay - half pay crossover and it makes sense (they haven't applied my unused annual leave). Ideally I'm hoping I will get half pay next month plus 16 days full pay for my holidays.

Assumably they would have to discuss this with me in advance?
