AUDIO TYPING WORK

ForQuirkyTiger · 15/07/2025 15:28

I have recently qualified as an audio typist and can do 40 WPM. I need to advice on how to get an audio typing job or freelance job please. I need the experience but don't know where to start. I need the experience to get the experience if that makes sense!

Well done - I have seen NHS jobs advertised in the past for medical secretaries where audio typing skills were required but I'm not sure if it's still a thing or if they use different types of software now to type up letters. Can I ask where you did the typing course.

A relative was at the top of her game with this, did it for 30+ years, then the bottom fell out of the market three years ago. Everything is AI. She did medical, TV, law/solicitor stuff, all sorts. Then poof.

I'd say best if luck, and fingers crossed you pick up at least side-hustle type money each month.

I do freelance typing from home. There are companies out there. They do often want in excess of 70wpm though so I'd keep trying to increase that speed in the meantime if you can x
