I recently applied for a role supporting young adults with additional needs. I had the first interview three weeks ago. This was a sit and answer questions to a panel type interview. This went well and at the end I was pretty much told I would be invited to the second stage however I then didn’t hear anything for nearly two weeks at which point I sent a (polite) chasing email and got a reply inviting me to the second stage.

The second stage was a practical interview where I was observed interacting with the clients at the day service. Again felt this went well and as I was leaving the staff member who observed me said that he would feedback to the manager but “it will all be positive”.

This was last Friday, so nearly a week ago, and I haven’t heard anything. The difficulty is I have had no face to face meeting with the manager at all - it was different senior staff at both interviews. I also I have no phone number for her so I am relying on email.

Is it too soon to chase it up?? I don’t want to appear impatient but the wait is killing me - getting this job would make a huge difference to my life. If I do chase it, what do I write in the email??

Could you say you're keen to join the organisation and feedback on the day went well, you are also interviewing for other posts so would like to know if they require anything else or if you've been successful, so I can withdraw from other processes.

Not too pushy and sounds like you really want to work for them and you're in demand
