Applied for an amazing job (directly, via company website) back in May. Two days later got an automated “after careful consideration, thanks but no thanks” email. Fine. Last week got an email from the company completely out of the blue asking if I was still interested as another role had come up. Great. Spoke with someone from the (internal) recruiting team who said I sounded like a great fit, talked about salary etc and said they would be in touch re next steps by the end of the week (this was stated several times). This week rolls around - nothing. I sent a polite follow up email yesterday - no reply.
Can I assume I am not going to hear anything further? I normally wouldn’t expect to hear back so quickly but the fact they have missed their own deadline and haven’t been in contact to offer any explanation is ringing alarm bells.
