Healthcare recruitment agency's

I need some opinions on recruitment agencies. I have never used one before. I am just wondering really what the potential is for them finding a job for me is/ how long does this usually take on average. I just assume they are doing their best to find me work, however, apart from the odd update, I really have no idea how much they are chasing it for me? Any experience welcome.

For what sort of role and organisation? In my experience as a nurse when I signed up to a couple of agencies I was fielding several calls a week.
this was prior to the freeze on recruitment in the last year though.

Occupational therapy... im only signed up to one agency, as i was told not to oversaturate potential employers by signing up to multiple. Yes, I suppose the pause on recruitment could be impacting this. How did you find agency work?
