Work forcing me out of my job

First ever post so bear with me.
I’ve currently been working the same shifts at work for nearly two years, these shifts work around my childcare arrangements. However, recently the new area manager has taken issue with my shifts because I have to leave by 3pm due to picking children up from school, he’s asked more than 10 times whether I’m able to stay any later, every time the answer is no. So now he is going to change my rotation that ‘comply with company standards’, and if I’m unable to fulfil the hours they set then there will be discussions as to whether the job role is suitable for me. Can they do this? I feel as though they are forcing me out due to having children.

What does your contract say about your hours?

There are a few things to consider here.

One is indirect discrimination, which I would say applies here.

If you've been doing it for two years, it could be seen as custom and practice.

I would give ACAS a call.
