Need some help…seem to have somebody that hates me

Hello all,

thank you for reading this post. I started a new job a few months ago. I love it, it helps so many people. Anyway today I was told someone wrote to the ceo using a fake email address telling them to sack me as I am terrible. All my references were excellent, I have flown through probation and signed up for additional learning costing me -a lot of money to support my job. Now scared my reputation is being damaged and my career, and I don’t know who by. I’m a single mum with two disabled children so really need this opportunity. I feel worried. My boss was great and very supportive but no idea what ceo thinks. Help please xx

What is wrong with people, I'm so sorry to hear this. To be honest I have felt similar. My initial reaction was shame and embarrassment, because I am working so hard to do my best and deliver the best impression. I keep going over who it could be...an ex-friend...a colleague who went for the job...the only thing I do know is that it was a fake name. I will definitely have to work harder and show I'm good at my job. But on the other hand, I would never treat anyone like this. I hope you are somewhere happier now and feel valued. I feel like I have little choice but to stay in my role for financial reasons and my learning of industry. So I need to just raise my head and have some courage. If it happens again my boss will be handing it over to the police. I hope the world gets better for the next generation... the world of emails and social media seems to give people the opportunity to throw out hooks without their real name. I guess, they must be deeply unhappy to do such a thing. I'm just shaken up...and it did frighten me. So they win, but I'm going to try and keep going and build something worthwhile. Thank you for sharing with me, it really has helped me.
