Covering managers maternity cover

I am covering my managers maternity cover and they will return to work next April.

I have just found out I am pregnant and due in February.

Does anyone know if my maternity pay will be based on my managers salary - as I’ll still be covering her role until I go off- or does it depend per company.

@Elouise91 Statutory Maternity Pay is based on actual earnings during the qualifying period. So yours will be based on the higher pay.

As above, Statutory Maternity Pay is based on your actual earnings during the Qualifying Period, which is a set of about 4 weeks at around 17 weeks pregnant (I think. Check!).

My employer also offers additional maternity pay for some months of the maternity leave. They base it on earnings during Qualifying Period too.

It is worth finding out which weeks are the ones that matter! If sick leave etc bring down your salary, it is worth really trying to avoid it during those weeks! Equally, if you can work paid overtime during those weeks then it could work out advantageously!
