Hate my new job, offered another but it is a FTC

Hi to give some context in March this year I was unexpectedly made redundant, took 6 weeks out redecorated, went away for a week and got to job hunting.

I was offered one quite quickly but waiting for DBs etc to complete I finally started last Monday I hate it, it's not what they had advertised it is mind numbing, at best a office junior role lots of downloading files and then uploading, the role should have involved audits fact finding but as the company is going through a reorganization the role has changed but the pay has not, what the position looks like in 3 months will be discussed.
Got to Friday and I almost said this is not for me, but have not earned a wage since March so need to start earning and not dip into savings ( not a huge amount saved), but late on Friday I received an email for a job I interviewed for not long after this role offering me a position but it's fixed term contract for a year with possibility of extension or turning into permanent.

The job I have started is permanent but I cannot stand it I am laying in bed now writing this thinking I do not want to go tomorrow, do I accept the FTC starts 30th June if I accept and just hope it turns permanent or stick with the permanent and hope things get better? if not start looking again my only concern if I start looking again as I've just started this do I look like a poor choice I'm 42 and this is only my 4th job.

( I applied for the FTC at time as I needed to find a job and it was available last choice on paper originally, the company I know well as had many meetings / dealings with them In my previous role)

I think go for it. Current job sounds like it's boring and not fulfilling. If you leave a FTC role at least you can put this as reason for leaving and won't look like a job hopper. But hopefully it is extended or becomes permanent. Good luck.

I’d go for the FTC. The reality is you can be dismissed for almost any reason within the first two years of employment anyway, and if you’re good, I’d hope they’d find a way to keep you.

Being in a job you hate is soul destroying and it doesn’t get any better as time goes on!

Sounds like this current role won’t last a year anyway - you may leave or the restructure may mean another redundancy.
what would be the point of starting to look again when you have a job offer - I would take the ftc and then start thinking about next steps in about six months. Seems like a secure staging post.

Do.you like the sound of the job you have been offered ? If so go with your gut and take it as like you mention it could be extended or made permanent. I wouldn't worry about how things look on your CV. Do you have to mention a 2 week role ? And if the FTC role doesn't extend then it's perfectly acceptable to state FTC came to an end on your CV.
