My husband is applying for a job in a public sector.
The interview is next Monday
He supplied 2 references.
He supplied a telephone number and email address of his former manager (who is now working for the same company, different location)
He supplied a telephone number for his current manager. He didn't supply the email address as it wasn't at hand.
What is puzzling is that his former manager was already approached via email to give reference. (The former manager contacted my husband)
The prospective employer has also asked husband to provide the email address for his current manager.
The interview is scheduled for next Monday, he is "Candidate B". Why is this public sector employer already asking for references?
If anyone could explain the significance of this it would be much appreciated.
My husband has no convictions to disclose, he would have a clear DBS check
