Start ups

Ive been contacted via LinkedIn for a role with a start up business.
I’ve got experience in start up environments but not quite as start up as this.
What sort of questions do I need to be asking and what sort of red flags do I need to look out for?
It sounds like a great opportunity and I am keen to explore it future but don’t want to be out of fire into the frying pan so to speak.

I would ask where the funding comes from, how long they have funding for and what happens after that point (i.e. another fundraising round). Does the role come with any share options - often start ups will offer this which is potentially a nice bonus but obviously can't be relied on. Do they have all the other job functions you'd expect and if not how do they cover those gaps. Can you cope if you got made redundant - obviously much more likely to happen with a start up. Not sure what industry you're in but hopefully some of this applies!

Thanks! These are the type of things I was thinking about.
I’m told it’s very well funded by private investors, but guessing they would tell me that and not sure how to check what they are telling me.
The redundancy situation is sitting at the back of my mind but there is a possibility of that happening in my currently role over the next few months anyway, so kind discounting that worry.
We haven’t discussed the package yet, but shares is definitely something I’m thinking of asking about as a sign on bonus if I decide to proceed.
