Lacking confidence

Hi all, just looking for some advice/confidence tricks, if you have suffered the same and how you overcame it.

I have recently been promoted to a more senior manager position. Great! I'm a relatively new manager with 18 months experience and have really grown in that time. Naturally, I am more introverted and technically minded rather than anextroverted/people person..I'm a listener, reflector, thinker

Anyway. My issue is confidence. I will be soon entering a steep learning curve.. very much in the deep end. But I will be expected to lead meetings, speak up, question, influence.. I find this difficult to do in a group situation and am better 121, asking questions after meetings etc I have a local accent and sometimes feel quite inferior... this is a me issue, I hope!

I'm looking for some tips of how you have overcome this. How did you start small?. I don't always have time to prepare for meetings and have learnt to wing it. But I want to make a good impression in the new role, but without it taking over my life. I have scheduled in 121 meetings to ask questions, but it's the group meetings I struggle with. This isn't with my team, but more so higher management. Any tips?

Ah love. First congrats! They wouldn't have promoted you if they didn't.think you could do it.

I'm a big reader and have "overcome" a lot of my introversion by reading techniques in meetings, etc. I do.recommend start there.

Good luck x
