Part time working pattern

I’ve worked on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for 8 years. I’ve been asked to change my working pattern to Monday, Thursday and Friday and I’m not sure how I feel about this?
Does anyone currently work this pattern and able to tell me what it’s like? It could work really well and I would benefit from the bank holidays, equally I currently love a 4 day block off. Let me know your thoughts

You won't be better off re: bank holiday as now you will have less choice on when you can take your holidays as some will be used up to cover all the Monday bank holidays.

At the moment you would have the same holidays as someone who works a Monday but have more choice about when to use those holidays as you're not tied to using them to cover Monday bank holidays

Working Monday was an absolute no go for me, purely because I only have nursery to facilitate my childcare and would be stuck on bank holidays.

I’d like to add I work in a school. With my current pattern I miss out on the bank holidays and don’t seem to accumulate them.

You should get leave in lieu of bank holidays if they don't fall on your working days. Not working on Mondays works out so much better in terms of bank hols.

Why do they want you to swap your day? Guess it depends what you do on your days off, for example, is it handy to have time off in a block so you can go on holiday etc, do you also get the school holidays off? How will it work for you?
