What to do if not primary school teaching?

Hi!
I've just read the thread where someone asked about retraining as a primary school teacher and the responses seemed overwhelmingly negative.
I recently completed a course in social sciences and have started doing another course in childcare. I planned on becoming a primary school teacher as I love children and would love to make a positive impact in schools and to young people's lives. However I also used to volunteer at my local womens aid and found the work they do for children and young people fascinating.
Does anyone on here work for womens aid or similar? How did you get the job and what qualifications did you need?
I spoke to a careers advisor about becoming a primary school teacher, however also mentioned wanting to explore the possibility of children's councilling/volunteering for womens aid again (I had to stop for a while because I started a new job and a full time college course) the careers advisor challenged me on why I don't aim to work in that environment and I think it's just because I'm not sure where to begin as it seems less common and more difficult.

Does anyone have any advice on what I could study next or who I could speak too?

Many thanks!

Why don't you become a Family support worker? You would get to work with children and make a difference.Your experience with woman's aid would be a strong positive too.I expect your qualifications would be sufficient.

Just wanted to say that I'm a Primary School Teacher and I love my job. I love the kids, my colleagues and of course the holidays! Very lucky to have a nice headteacher and lots of support when needed.

I hadn't considered this! Thank you 😊
