Staying in job too long?

I’ve been with my company for a fairly long time (8 years). Mainly because I enjoy the work and it fits well with my lifestyle. Pay is good and so is annual leave etc etc

However I know I do want to try something new at some point in the future.

Are recruiters going to be put off by my long stretch? Should I get out before the damage to my CV gets worse?!

I always thought that staying with a company a long time shows commitment and loyalty. But I understand not everyone sees it like that…

Have you moved roles within the company or has it been the same job for 8 years?

It'll be fine, I wouldn't give it much thought. It can't be changed, and when I think of the people I work with there's the full spectrum.

I think as long as you're happy and demonstrate growth during that time frame, it can be viewed at a positive aspect of your character and shows loyalty amd adaptation over the course of your time there
