School office admin job interview!

Hi

I have an interview tomorrow at a school for an admin post.

I got an email Friday that it’s a short interview and handwritten in tray task.

Do I need to take anything with me apart from ID? Should I take my certificates?

Also the email said they’ve stated sorry for the delay in response, they’ve started the interview process and would like to invite me to interview on Tuesday (the next working day). Do you think the interviews they did didn’t go well last week and I have a chance?? Or is this the norm in a school office and they stagger interviews and invites?

thanks!!

Congratulations OP!

Prioritising 4 different tasks when you’re in the office on your own and give reasons for your choice - my options were below.
sick child
phone ringing
photocopying that the head teacher needs in 45 minutes
parent at reception wanting to speak to head teacher but head teacher is elsewhere in the school

I’m not in the same field at all so never come across this type of question, I’m thinking of how I’d prioritise…. It’s probably completely wrong 🤣🤣

Well done! My DD works in a school office and loves it. It's very busy but she loves being part of a school community (and the holidays of course)

I’ve been thinking about this longer than necessary! What did you say @AXCS. My likely response would be
Ensure sick child is safe by getting them to do the photocopying
Ask parent to answer phone while I go and find the head.
Done ✅

Another question if anyone can help!

All progressing on the recruitment front, references have been requested and I’ve given ID so school can request a new enhanced DBS etc (current role only required standard). But I’ve not yet heard anything from the recruitment team, so no offer letter yet, anticipating forms to fill in and occupational health declarations.

anybody got recent experience of how long dbs takes etc at the moment? And how long would you normally wait to hear from recruitment before contacting them?

I am keen to start asap as school have said they want me to start as soon as possible, which could mean before summer from the sound of things! Exciting!
