Hi all. I am trying to work out if I am overreacting so.

been with business for over five years. Part of leadership team in. Business development So very sales environment. Always hit and exceeded targets. Always positive appraisals. Good client relationships and in a very specialised area.
My colleague and peer has behaved extremely badly and I suspect to remove the risk to the business has been promoted over me. The job was not advertised internally and I was not asked to apply.
ten minutes after I was told said person being promoted to head up a team of two (!) call to say that person wanted to know what I was doing. Need access to your diary etc etc etc. all fair, no acknowledgement from them of changed dynamic, we will work together etc etc. and quite frankly abrasive. He is 15 years younger than me. I have always been very supportive of this person but I can’t work for him.
since then three instances of total disrespect, over assertiveness, and micromanagement. Micro management to the point that he is telling me I must draft emails for him to send etc etc.

it’s time to either raise a grievance or plan to leave or let them manage me out.

WWYD?

Raise with HR / his manager making sure you provide factual evidence to support. Why should you be leaving when his behaviour is inappropriate ? I’m guessing if he is like this with you, he is also displaying similar behaviours with others.
