Financial Advice - Career Change

Hey all,

I posted a thread in AIBU yesterday about how I am fed up with my current role.

I have only just discovered this board existed.

I am really interested from hearing from anyone who either works in or has moved into financial advice/planning as a career. I love personal finance/budgeting and am into investing.

I am in financial services (banking head office role) and I’m thinking of doing my level 4 diploma with a view to looking for trainee roles (ideally employed within a firm rather than go down self employed route). I’m aware I’d be taking a salary hit to begin with and would need to weigh that up.

Any thoughts/opinions would be welcomed!

Thank you

I’ve put together a digital finance planner that’s helped me (and now a few others!) get on top of spending, manage bills, and actually stick to a budget — even with the chaos of family life. It’s printable and easy to use, with pages for budgeting, savings goals, expenses, and debt tracking.
