Hi Ladies,
I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience with this before I bring it up in work.
I have worked in a large supermarket (beginning with T) for 17 years, and on one of my shifts I work 10-4. There is another girl who started last year who works 10-4.45. One of our colleagues is dropping her 7am-1pm shift and has let the manager know that I would be interested in said shift. However, the manager came down and offered the newer girl the shift which she obviously agreed to.
I’m just wondering if anyone knows whether or not these hours should have been advertised or if they can just offer them to anyone?
Thank you (:

I don’t think they need to be advertised, why not ask for the directly?

I didn’t see my manager until it had already been offered (which I didn’t know at the time) but was told it’s been promised to someone else when I said I’d be interested in applying. Just wondering if that was the norm.
