Resources etc for reviewing job contact?

Can anyone advise the best places with checklists/advice etc on what to look for in employment contracts?

I've had mine through. They're a well known US company (with offices in UK) but as a result the contract is quite full on and I want to make sure it's all OK before signing.

ACAS and government sites have very general info.

I would call ACAS rather than looking on their site - they won’t look over the whole thing for you but you could ask their advice if there are specific things you’re worried about.

In what way is it a full on? Does it have some kind of non compete thing in it?

Yes a few things like that (standard at this level and sector though). I've looked at a fair few contracts but it's been a while and this one is quite stringent.

I don't think there's anything wrong but good for my own peace of my mind more than anything.

Maybe consider actually paying a solicitor to look at it?

Agree, if you actually want it to be checked properly, you need to pay a solicitor to do so.
Otherwise just read it fully yourself and research any terms you are unclear about.

Thank you. I did consider this. It feels like overkill though, more a case of making sure I'm clear on what I'm signing up to and it's as fair as it can be.

Doesn’t sound like overkill if you’re worried about it
