Promotion - no pay rise for new tax year

Informed by my manager today that I won’t receive a pay rise for the new tax year. I was promoted in October and received a promotion rise then. I’ve been told I’ll receive a £1000 bonus, but pay raise for inflation aren’t the ‘done thing’ in our company so soon after promotion. Is this the done thing?

Same where I work - no pay rise in April if promoted with a pay rise from 1 October onwards.

I’d fight for it if you think you deserve it. I have always been fighting over a small increase althoigh I am now very tired of fighting, almost begging for it, make sure telling them what I am doing, especiallu I spent so much money to fit the role and responsibilities. Errrrrrrhhhhhh

I took over head of dept and told it was an extension of my existing responsibilities!! No raise so it’s a thing

I’ve had a pay rise twice in November due to additional duties and still got included in the annual rise in January. But then I’m very lucky to work for an awesome company that has won The Times best companies to work for for the second year in a row. Never been treated this well at the many other places I’ve worked so I know I’m very lucky.

Same at my work which is a plc. My boss delayed my promotion a few months after annual pay rise to ensure I got both.

Same where I work. You have to have done a full year at the new level before being eligible for the inflation pay increase.
