New job dilemma

Hi All! Not sure where to post this but just need advice.
i have been in my current job for a long time and i am starting to feel fed up. I don’t feel respected or challenged anymore. There is no chance of promotion either. The pay is good though and the team I work with are nice. I have been applying for other jobs elsewhere but feel nervous about accepting. I think it’s fear of the unknown as I’ve been in this role at this company for so long and I don’t want to go out the frying pan into the fire. Feel very conflicted at the moment. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am having the exact same dilemma. I am also full time WFH and weighing up going back to an office with a commute for not a lot more money is making it hard to decide!

This is completely normal! Human brains dislike uncertainty so they try to convince you that your current job is safer because it’s familiar.

Lots of factors to weigh up. Time to retirement, financial security, stability of job , spare time to find fullfilment in other ways.

I'm the same! Been at my job 9-10 years and I would love a change. But also v scared to move!! Glad it's not just me.

It might not be bad - my last job change was to a similar role but with much more autonomously, more pay, fewer hours and no on-call. I do have to be in the office every day, but it's walking distance across town, not an hour's drive away, so it's fine.

What it has done is boost my confidence. I can see I'm actually quite good at my job, now I don't get put down a lot. My hand was forced by redundancy, but it has shown me my last job was quite toxic in some ways. This one isn't perfect but it is better in a lot of ways.
