Interview - what would you do?

Applied for a promotion. Interview arranged and happening soon.

Messaged last night to say one person has asked for a different day, and did I want keep my original slot or rearrange for a month later?

How would you have responded?

I would rearrange. More preparation time and you can be more assured that the panel will be able to compare you to the other candidate more easily.

Hi @GCAcademic , yes I’ve said rearrange. Didn’t feel comfortable that they’d have a months gap between seeing me and the other candidates.

Started thinking if it would mean they considered I was awkward but I’m not the one asking for the change.

You're overthinking. They won't have thought anything of it, and I imagine the panel would also prefer to do the interviews all on one day. I had an interview rearranged last year because the other candidate couldn't make it. There was no question about it, the date was simply changed to a later one for both of us.
