Verbal offer

Hi,

I had a verbal offer from a school on Friday but nothing in writing.
I rang school and they put me through to HR.
I've rung HR and they said they haven't received yet from school.

It should start after the Easter holidays.

I have another school waiting for me to get back to them and another interview.

Generally I'd have had sonething back quickly even if just an email for schools.

It's a support staff role.

Anything else I can do?

How stable is a verbal offer?

Do nothing off the back of a verbal offer. Not sure when Easter hols are where you are but it wouldn’t be unreasonable to change tomorrow.

They start here Friday with Friday being an INSET day for many.

I would never rely on a verbal offer. Until the contract is signed, assume you don’t have a job and keep looking.

I really need to secure something before the hols. Also the head nor the deputy were present. It was Senco and deputy Senco. The head or at least deputy has always been present (primary and secondary) before now even for support roles.
The head at this other school has been calling me up herself to chat.

Take the other job then. 🤷🏻‍♀️
